We travel quite a bit and have encountered many “bad” hotels, so generally I tend to give most of the places we stay the benefit of the doubt. Our visit this weekend was so frustrating however, that I felt the need to share it. This hotel was not what I would consider bad by any means. It was outdated but clean and well-kept, and the staff was very attentive. Unfortunately the amenities left much to be desired. Our first complaint was that we had nothing resembling the view we had requested and were told we would have. Instead we were treated to a very large, bright, spotlight in the parking lot, which for some ungodly reason was trained directly into our window. Easy enough to fix with the (what I can only assume by the weight and density) lead curtains, that were thoughtfully hung to protect us from the inevitable radiation we would have been exposed to. We were so exhausted from our day that, after we assured ourselves that all of the snapping and groaning we heard was not in fact our wing of the hotel attempting to sheer itself off from the rest, we quickly fell to sleep. Our next midnight nemesis was the heat/ac unit, which was so close to the bed that each time it roared to life, it would wake us up. It would then attempt to lull us back to sleep by clicking and ticking incessantly. Of course, this act was futile given the fact that we were sleeping on what amounted to an over-glorified park bench covered with straw. After giving up the premise of sleep around 730AM, we decided to go down and eat breakfast. Should have stayed in park bench… I mean bed. This was a lousy excuse for a breakfast. The milk was simply sour. The pancakes would have made great skippers during a walk on the lakeshore. The store-bought donuts were stale and cold and disgusting, despite the fact that there is a Krispy Kreme right down the street. And the oatmeal had huge lumps in it. The only decent fare were the scrambled eggs and sausage links. This is a very nice hotel with what seems to be a great staff. They deserve a hotel that they can be as proud of as the owners should be in their employees.

A business-oriented lodging with a personal feel. Our room was generously appointed, with furniture and decor that made us feel at home. The colors and textures were great, but when you closed the bathroom door and sat down on the "throne" you felt like you were suddenly inside a Philadelphia row house in Upper Darby. Upgrade the bathrooms for goodness sake! Still, it was a great stay. The front desk person was a pretty girl with an amazing and carefree style, who spoke to me casually yet helpfully, as if I was a guy she had known forever. The complementary breakfast was a robust buffet of different continental selections, and I was very happy with the value and experience of this hotel stay. Well done, beautiful girl and your hotel.

We usually love staying at the Hyatt Place in Overland Park. I believe this was our third time staying there. They have let things go, floors in the entry way and elevators were dirty with visible trash and leaves. A glass in our room had make up, lipstick and visible finger prints on it, making us a little nervous to drink out of any of the cups in our room. There was quite a bit of rust in the bathrooms too. We usually love staying at the Hyatt place but unless they get back to the quality they once were we will probably not be staying there any more.

First of all I had to change the room because there was a problem with the AC and they did not fix it even after 7 days of constant complaints. Then the detergend dispensers in laundry room went out of service so I had to go by a full size detergend pack just so I can use it once but even after I bought the detergent I could not do anything with it since this time the machines itself were out of service. Overall not what I would expect and I will not be coming back here anymore.

The hotel is pretty old but clean and decently maintained. The bathroom was unusually small and it felt conjusted. The bedroom door had to be pushed in to close. The breakfast spread is pathetic compared to other Hyatt. The staff is really friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Stay was very comfortable. I used the hotel for a professional business trip but if it was my own dime I would probably not go again.

There were problems checking in with our reservations. 1st floor elevator button is about to fall apart. When I got into the room, at first glance, it was nice. I then saw that some spots on the wall were bubbled. Bathroom a little small. NO VENDING MACHINES except ice in any of the rooms next to the elevators. Breakfast very tasty with plenty of options to choose from.

Good hotel, new. The concept is interesting, but I think the value for money might be better in larger hotels because the services are pretty basic.

Remodeled and New staff resulted in much nicer place to stay on business or for pleasure. This overhaul was long overdue! Great location. I will be back. Only negative comment: breakfast buffet was cut back. No pastries or donuts. But, overall, good breakfast buffet.

The hotel staff has been exceptionally pleasant. This room is very clean, very modern looking, and quite homey. The surrounding area seems nice as well. Not the kind of place you would be afraid to leave your car overnight in the slightest.

Wonderful room for a very reasonable price. Southwest vacations and Expedia are the way to go with last minute hotel reservations. Will definitely stay here again. The free hot breakfast each morning was worth not sleeping in for.

Consistent with other Hyatt Places... My favorite property at which to stay when I need a place to park it" for the night. Courteous staff, newly redone rooms, good facilities, good breakfasts... No complaints!

Only experience is in lobby with front staff. Lobby is nice. Sometimes there are tons of staff standing doing nothing and other times there is no one in sight. I have called before and no one has answered.

Service here was great. The room was incredibly nice. Everything was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was lacking a little with no meat of any kind but it got the job done. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Newly remodeled, I really like this hotel. Good breakfast, rooms and public areas are all updated. Fast internet. Very close to a lot of great restaurants. All new furniture in the rooms and in the lobby.

Had family visiting from out of town and there was a problem with flooding from the air conditioner unit and the sinks. The rooms smelled slightly of mold and the carpets were wet and soggy.

They have refreshed the interior as of March 2017. Much improved. Seems like there is a challenge each time with confusion at the front desk. A litte annoying but they always get it fixed.

I like Hyatt Place hotels but they really need to redesign the bathroom door situation. Other than that it was clean but small details like electrical plates being loose can be annoying.

Had to wait 15 minutes to get my room 6:45, had no TV remote in my room. And the door lock at the end of the hall did not let you in with your key. Not impressive.
