This Credit Union is a JOKE! My Car loan process was very simple. 4 months into my car loan i noticed that there was a force placed auto insurance on my loan because the bank failed to add my insurance info to the loan documents. Every time I called Brightstart their phones were either a busy signal or a recording that said that the line was disconnected. Other times I called I would wait on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes. After I finally got a hold of someone they told me that they person who handles the forced place insurance, there is only one person in the whole company and she was on vacation. I had to call their third party insurance company gave them my insurance information and at that point they removed the forced place auto insurance and admitted that the bank made an administrative error. Also there is this service called Courtesy Pay (overdraft protection) I declined that option and just wanted my card to decline if there were no funds available. One time I over drafted my account by .63 cents and they charged me 4 courtesy payments fees of $34. When I called and told them exactly who I spoke to and that the courtesy payment option was not suppose to be on on my account. They said that there was no record of that being declined, but they were happy to remove one of the courtesy payment fees. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BANK. Unless you like people playing games with your money. UPDATE: I have since sold this vehicle and the bank is still making my automatic payments even though the loan has been paid off. After spending 1 hour on hold I was told that the only way the bank can refund me my money is if I go in to a branch and speak to bank representative and REQUEST a refund.

Very poor service at this branch. The tellers are friendly and nice, but the service is dreadfully slow. Line out the door @ 12 in the afternoon. Went in to cash a check without an account, and was told that the signature that was in the system did not match the signature on the check! They were going to call the account holder to verify, which is very rude! Deposited into my bank account and cleared within 12 hours!

My Aunt went in to do a Certificate of Deposit. She was treated dreadfully. The representative that was "helping" her was discussing her own personal business with another employee. She waited on another member before my Aunt when she should have been after her. She did not give the correct interest rates and when she was told about that she got an attitude about her own mistake.

I am so glad I went to Brightstar. Great service. They (including the manager) took time to explain everything and went out of their way to get me the best deal possible. I am glad my car, my motorcycle and my credit card are all from Brightstar. Now I am recommending Brightstar to all my friends and family.

Employees nice, made a new account, went to do the online account activation, locked out of new account for no reason and absolutely no feedback at 3:30 PM on a Monday. Left a voice mail and they never replied. Semi okay if banking irl, not at all through the phone.
