When my husband and I started the process of getting preapproval for a mortgage, we went through a nationally recognized bank. After several unanswered emails, phone calls, and flat out lying..."I will have that preapproval to you by the end of business tomorrow".... (we got it a week later) we came to the realization that we were unimportant and disposable to the bank.... not very reassuring when you are about to make the largest purchase of your life! On recommendation, we gave Mike Murgatroy from Guaranteed Rate a call. It was a Saturday, but I figured I would leave a message and hear back on the next business day. I was shocked when Mike called me back a few minutes later, took all of our pertinent information over the phone, emailed me links for additional information and then assured me we would have preapproval as soon as I could get our information back to him. Mike (and his team) not only followed through, but he was available to answer all of our ridiculous questions, he advised us in areas we felt insecure and even showed up unexpectedly at our closing. If you want stellar customer care, personalized and reliable service, then I highly recommend dropping your bank and giving Mike Murgatroy a call, you will not be disappointed!

Mike’s team consistently went above and beyond to help me refinance. My situation was a bit more complex than a typical refinancing - I acquired my home using a private lender and I invested a significant amount of money to renovate the property. The team helped me through the process of refinancing which included paying off the private lender and returning cash proceeds to myself. I originally reached out to them back in January 2016. While the home renovation process went slower than expected, the Murgatory team stayed by me the entire time and was always willing to help. Do not let their location prevent you from working with them – everything went smooth even though they are located in Florida and I am in New Jersey. They can handle mortgages all over the country.
