Without reservation, we echo the praise given to Robert Brandt by other reviewers here. We had enough going on financially that we got to a point where we weren’t exactly sure what to do next. We knew filing for bankruptcy was a possibility, but at the time we didn’t know if it was the right path to pursue. We met with Robert after seeing the positive reviews and are very glad we did. He was able to help us see our financial picture with much more clarity and demonstrated with certainty why filing for Chapter 7 was truly in our best interest given our circumstances. And he was right. When we decided to move forward, Robert had the information we needed prepared, especially concerning the documents we had to gather for the filing. When we had questions, he could be counted on for a timely response with direct answers that helped us continue the process with confidence. That’s one of the of the most important elements of Robert’s practice that we can mention. His ability to instill in us a sense of confidence that we were doing the right thing and that everything would be handled properly. The other thing we appreciated about Robert was his good humor. Financial pressures and filing for bankruptcy are, of course, stressful, but Robert had a way of helping us keep things in perspective. His good nature and easy demeanor went a long way toward putting us at ease. The timing of the process was as he had laid out in the beginning. So in early November, we were elated to receive the e-mail from him notifying us that our bankruptcy had been discharged, allowing us to start fresh and providing us with a great deal of financial and emotional relief. I’ll try to describe and explain my experiences with Mr. Robert Brandt from the heart, in the easiest way possible. For the past few years or so my wife and I were getting deeper and deeper into debt, unable to pay many of our bills, including our rent, having to constantly borrow money from friends and relatives (that is when they had it; they were of course struggling and to make ends meet themselves), seemingly falling further and further into that proverbial hole, and seemingly with no hope of ever digging or getting out of this hole. As I was researching for an attorney that could possibly help us get out of this depressing situation, give us hope, and to help us possibly file for bankruptcy and I came across Mr. Brandt. Mr. Brandt was absolutely from the get go very kind, sympathetic, helpful, down to earth, and did indeed give me and my wife some much needed hope and optimism. He helped us to see that there was indeed a light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. Mr. Brandt called and emailed us often to let us know what exactly we would have to provide and document, what was needed, etc., as far as having our debts discharged through a bankruptcy filing. He wanted to make sure that we were absolutely and totally, 100% prepared, ready, and that our bankruptcy would indeed succeed. “I don’t see any other way than for you to file bankruptcy”. With those words, I began my search for a Bankruptcy Attorney. As I was in the mist of a divorce, I asked for a referral from my divorce attorney. He couldn’t provide one so I began searching online for a bankruptcy attorney. I came across Robert Brandt’s website and was pleased not only by the wealth of information he makes available but in how comfortable he made me feel. I made an appointment to meet with him. I was reluctant to file bankruptcy, was not late on any payments and wanted to do the right thing and pay my debts. Robert explained all my options and spent a considerable amount of time answering my questions and alleviating my fears. Over the next several months we communicated and developed a strategy in line with my divorce proceedings. When it came time to submit my paperwork, we meet and painstakingly covered every detail. I highly recommend Mr. Brandt if you are considering bankruptcy. I put the decision off longer than I should have, and during my first appointment I broke down from shame and embarrassment. He was very kind and respectful, but very straightforward. After reviewing my finances, he assured me that I had done as well as I could have for as long as I could have and there was no shame in that. He even managed to make me laugh and I left his office with a much lighter heart. What I thought was really great about working with Mr. Brandt is that in an area where everyone is so busy, traffic is horrid and time is precious, it was wonderful to have the option to exchange information and documents quickly and efficiently by email rather than having to make multiple appointments. During our meetings and communications, he had so thoroughly prepared me, that I felt confident as I went into the creditors’ meeting. However, it was a comfort to know that he was right beside me if any unexpected questions were asked. I never thought I would ever have to consider bankruptcy. After two unforeseen events, it was my only option. The thought of filing was emotionally draining and I had no idea who to contact. I received several referrals from my accountant; however, these attorneys either represented the creditor or had a smarmy attitude that did not sit well with me. We suffered a series of unexpected serious medical emergencies and tried to find a lawyer who could sort through the overwhelming process of filing bankruptcy.
