Rasmussen & Miner was there for me during one of the most difficult times in my life. I was suddenly being awoken through the thick fog of anesthesia. I was informed that a tragic mistake had been made. It was the wrong surgery; my cervical spine had just been surgically severed and screwed back together by mistake. The unthinkable was suddenly a reality. While still coming to grips with what had happened, the effects of anesthesia still lingering, my wife and I were surrounded by doctors and lawyers asking us to make major decisions. Having just had our trust betrayed we felt alone, confused, and afraid. My wife and I never thought we would ever need an attorney. We did not think of ourselves as those types of people. We first called our insurance company, thinking they would be on our side; they weren’t. We then called other doctors’ offices that, after learning what had happened, turned us away. Reluctantly we started researching attorneys. One told me that, although it was clear a mistake had been made, I ultimately would not be effected enough to justify hiring him. As the future became increasingly uncertain, as I realized I had a long difficult recovery ahead, as the lone provider for my family of six, I came across the law firm of Rasmussen and Miner. Late at night I left an email message which surprisingly received an immediate response. For the first time through this difficult situation, there was someone who was clearly on our side. The biggest relief was that Mr. Miner and his staff was there to not only advocate for me, but also to guide my wife and I through the complex medical and legal worlds. For what turned out to be years of recovery, Mr. Miner was there for me through every doctor’s visit, recovery complication, medical expense, insurance interactions, and coordination with my employer. Rasmussen and Miner was there for my family through the time in my life when I felt the most helpless and overwhelmed. Mr. Miner’s diligence and persistent patience through a multi-year process held us together through one of our darkest times. I will forever be thankful for the personal attention that Mr. Miner provided.
