If you are reading this, I am hoping to inspire you to make the best choice when dealing with one of life’s hardest challenges, the dissolving of your family unit as you know it. No one ever expects to be where we are when you walk down the aisle into matrimonial bliss. This person that you have given your all to and promised until the end of time has decided that they do not have that same vision, so now what? This is where I was a number of years ago…I never thought I out of anyone would be getting a divorce, so never did I even contemplate a strategy of what I would do when I would be faced without a choice. My marriage had come to an end…so leads me to the rest of the story. Like the other testimonials you will read on here, I had met with several attorneys before finding Heather. They went through all of the scenarios, what the process was, and the next things that were going to happen. I met with some of the “best in the business” as their websites and reviews read, but never did I get a warm and fuzzy emotional feeling with any of them. As I continued my internet search, Heather and her team at Raleigh Divorce appeared, and I opened her site and investigated, looking for clues as to if Heather was “the one” for me. I called her office and immediately had a sense of peace when I spoke with her receptionist and made my first consultation. I remember vividly my first interaction with Heather and her team. I immediately felt the connection and comfort I had been looking for when going through this horrible process. I knew that I had found “the one” who would look out for me and my family’s best interest. You see that whenever you meet with these people, you can see who is in it just because it is a job and who is in it because they genuinely have a passion for being a family law advocate and truly care about the wellbeing of their clients. Heather is absolutely without a doubt in it because of her passion. She is the total package when choosing a family law attorney. Heather met with me, reassuring me, that she would be with me, every step of the way, instilling confidence that she would do whatever she could to look out for the best interest of me and my family. That is all I cared about was making sure that my family had a voice and there would be someone who would fight for our wellbeing. I immediately got this sense from Heather and signed the retainer with her the same day. This may not mean anything to you reading this, but just to give you a feel, I don’t EVER sign anything the first day I am introduced to it, I often have to think about things, and for a while…so if anything is a testimony to the impact that Heather has had, it should be the immediate reassurance that she is who you want on your side. My only regret in this process was not getting to Heather sooner, so please if you are on the fence, make the right choice; I assure you she is “the one” for you as well.

I highly recommend Heather Williams and everyone at Raleigh Divorce Firm, especially if you are involved in a high conflict situation. I was being sued by my husband’s ex-wife for Alienation of Affection and contacted Heather to represent me. My husband’s ex-wife retained a lawyer who ended up taking a personal interest in persecuting my husband, costing him $80,000 in legal fees and destroying their co-parenting relationship. His ex retained the same lawyer to sue me, and I am so grateful that I had Heather on my side. Early on, we thought we reached a settlement with the ex for $10,000, but she did not execute because her lawyer promised to secure $40,000 plus expenses from me. This lawyer filed the complaint in February and took no action whatsoever, as she knew Heather was scheduled for maternity leave in September. Heather contacted her in July, inquiring when she was going to schedule the court case, and the lawyer only proposed dates while Heather was out. When Heather objected, the lawyer got particularly nasty and personal with Heather, even accusing Heather of getting pregnant just to obstruct the case! Heather held her ground, not being intimidated like my husband’s first lawyer, and secured dates for when she returned from leave. As part of the discovery process, we learned that his ex and the lawyer had illegally taken copies of my husband’s computers and phone. In addition, the ex admitted entering into my husband’s residence without his express permission, breaching the terms of their separation and custody agreement. My husband then installed a security camera in his apartment and captured her several times wandering through his apartment, snooping through papers and entering his personal bathroom. Heather then had the brilliant idea of filing an invasion of privacy suit against her, a criminal offense, which we ended up using in mediation. We did end up settling, but for less than the $10,000 initially offered to her and far less than the $40,000 + she expected. This was a huge victory, due to the vexatious and legally oppressive nature of the divorce and the particular nastiness of the ex’s lawyer, who had taken a personal, vengeful interest in punishing my husband. Heather stood up to the bullying tactics of the ex’s lawyer, with confidence, professionalism, knowledge of the law, and brilliant legal strategies. My only wish is that my husband would have found Heather vs. the first lawyer he retained. If he had retained Heather in the beginning, I doubt if the legal situation would have escalated to where it is now and they could have maintained a healthy parenting partnership, which has been destroyed by his ex’s lawyer.

When I first needed an attorney for my impending divorce I looked over the many reviews and recommendations online and decided that Raleigh Divorce firm was one worth trying. I met with Heather, who was willing to meet with me later than normal for initial consultations, due to my work schedule. When we met she was very reassuring that what I wanted out of the final settlement was reasonable. Also she is very good at negotiating with opposing attorneys and knowing when we should or should not agree to their requests, and what was the correct amount of compromise. I feel considering where my case started we were able to get a very reasonable and fair deal in the final settlement. If you ever find yourself in the position where you are going through a divorce I highly recommend Heather and the Raleigh Divorce Law Firm. Working with the entire staff was a positive experience during this stressful time. Everyone at the office is helpful and treated me professionally.
