If you want to pay $10pp to just walk around the visitors center and pay $10 to park- oh and its $30 for the tour which is first come first serve (cant pre-purchase) so you could be waiting a couple hours to go on the tour. And they have security like at the airport-take everything off and walk through metal detectors. The dam is neat and its history but not all places like this charge so much for so little.

They had lots of good info. The new store manager was incredibly helpful. He even took our photo in front of Lake Mead. Please note this is the only place you can get a National Park Passport Stamp in the Hoover Dam/Lake Mead area.

Free parking, free wifi. Hoover dam only 4 miles away. I bicycled this distance, but I actually bicycled from the town. But if I knew this spot was free to park, I might have driven out to here.

Good place to stop to learn more about the lake and the dam. The restrooms are clean. The trail from the visitor centre to Boulder Beach on the banks of lake is about 3 miles.

There is a 20-minute movie about the area which is interesting. There are informative exhibits. Lots of fun things in the gift shop.
