In March of 2015, I was hit head-on by a man who was high on meth. At the time, I was working as a nurse tech at a local hospital and just 2 short months away from graduating college (at the age of 35) as an RN. I was, and am, married with 3 children, now ages 17, 14, and 11. Because of the speed at which the man was traveling when he hit me, I was pinned in my car by my dashboard. I suffered a partial amputation of my right leg which required several surgeries to repair and pelvic fractures which caused nerve damage which led to foot drop (a gait abnormality) in my left leg. I spent 2 months inpatient and a total of 3 months bedbound. I lost my job and was unable to finish the nursing program. My husband heard of Jason Schultz by someone in the ER or ICU, I’m not sure which. Jason came from Atlanta to Chattanooga to meet with my husband as I was sedated in the ICU, having undergone 6 surgeries within the first week and a total of 12 procedures overall. My husband hired Jason, and he began the process of trying to recover any and all monies available to us as a result of the wreck. I would love to say that I’m recommending Jason because he was able to recover the $2,000,000 my case was estimated to be worth or even the $500,000 my health insurance paid for my care, but, unfortunately, this proved impossible. I am recommending Jason because, although he correctly predicted the disappointing outcome of this case early on, he respectfully honored our requests to investigate further and allowed us the time necessary to come to terms with the fact that we could never be completely restored financially because of the character of the man who had hit me. In a day and age which we are all little more than account numbers in most of our business dealings, Jason never treated us as such and, in fact, returned every phone call and voicemail personally. As devastating as this wreck was, we are hopeful for our future because of the resolution Jason worked so hard for in our case.
