We awoke one Sunday morning to our 9-year old exclaiming that there was water everywhere. A toilet had continued to run and had apparently been overflowing for hours during the night. Our guest bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, dining room, pantry, and kitchen all had about three inches of standing, bacteria-filled toilet water. We immediately began to vacuum up the water with our shop-vac but it was apparent that moisture was already wicking up the drywall. Our Saltillo tile showed signs of saturation, as well. Within thirty minutes of finding the water we had mopped up to the best of our ability and were already on the phone with our homeowners insurance company. Things went downhill very quickly. It took almost a week for our insurance company to authorize a water mitigation company to come in and begin clean-up. A WEEK! I knew we were in big trouble. The water leak happened on May 7th, on June 1st we received an estimate for $7334.58. My lower kitchen cabinets were gone, kitchen island gone, built-in china hutch cut in half, lower and floor-to-ceiling cabinets in laundry were gone, walls cut out two feet from the floor, insulation in all interior and exterior walls gone, bottom shelf from walk-in pantry gone. Carpets in the formal areas gone. Tile, with bacteria filled water still underneath was still in place. The adjuster had not allowed for most of these things to be replaced. In fact, our home was cordoned off into two separate areas while hazmat procedures were still being followed. The clean up wasn’t even finished, a second post-clean up inspection had not been done. That is when I knew I needed professional help in a hurry. After much homework and interviewing of prospective public adjusters we settled on Jung Park at Excel Adjusters, Inc. Mr. Park and his team have been incredible. He put us at ease and took over the fight on our behalf. My biggest mistake in this ordeal was to not have known about Jung Park from the beginning! I was hoping that my custom home would be made right again and it will be thanks to his dedication to detail and knowledge of the insurance claim system. He and his team have handled all details leaving us to begin designing our new kitchen. The claim is still ongoing as we are preparing to vacate our untenable home for the duration of construction. Mr. Park has already settled the property portion of our claim for $78,927.48. That is a far cry from the original $7334.58 that State Farm estimated! I have every faith that the remaining Additional Living Expenses claim will be as fair and just, as well. I cannot recommend Excel Adjusters, Inc. and Jung Park strongly enough! In fact, in my financial services business if we have any clients who may need the services of a public adjuster I will recommend they contact Jung Park immediately!

Excel Adjusters is a great company! There was a slab leak at our house, and they got the process taken care of. John Park and Ernesto was on prompt and helped with the negotiation and paper work process. I used a different damage restoration company in the past, and it did not work so well.
