We all work hard for our money and so when hiring someone to build you a deck, you want them to be really good at what they do and you want to hire someone you can trust to do a good job. For me, I want a professionally led company who hires the best carpenters who have been with the company for a while and know how to work as a team. That’s what I found in Lee Larimore and River City Deck and Patio. How did I find them? I Googled San Antonio Deck and Patio Builders. Once I looked at their website and viewed their Gallery of pictures, I immediately felt this was the company I could trust to do a good job. Lee came out and looked at my existing 800 sq. ft. deck that had to be replaced. There had been a huge tree shading the deck, but it had died and had to be taken down, leaving the deck with no shade at all. Lee suggested a partial arbor over the deck, which was an excellent idea since we have a lot of wounded, ill and injured Service Members who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, that come over and participate in the programs our non-profit organization, Operation Comfort, has for them, such as cycling, sled hockey, yoga, woodworking, welding and Automotivation. So shade is important under this Texas sun. When they come to our home, I want them to feel comfortable and at home. Shade definitely helps! Lee sent over one of his teams, Joe and Nick, to build our deck and arbor and I cannot say enough about the great work they did. Joe and Nick immediately went to work tearing down the old deck, stacking the wood as they went and picking up any loose nails they found on the ground. Once they hauled off the old deck, they brought in the new wood and began building the foundation for the new deck. Each day before they left, they cleaned up their work area, making sure everything was neat and clean before they left, which is the sign of a true professional who takes pride in their work. The deck and arbor turned out better than I could have imagined. We are very pleased with it and we just had our first party with about 40 wounded Service Members who cycle with us, come out and enjoy the deck and some good food. Lee, thank you for having such a great company, employing great carpenters like Joe and Nick to do an outstanding job. We are very appreciative and grateful that we found River City Deck and Patio! It is a distinct honor to recommend Lee and the River City Deck and Patio team not because they did any work for us but instead they are a first class organization, who are honest, upfront and extremely helpful. Yesterday, Lee visited with my wife and I as we were looking at some improvements in our back yard living space. Keep in mind, at this point my wife and I had over 6 different contractors visit and give us their recommendations and estimates on what they could do for us, to include stamped concrete, flagstone, wood deck, etc. To our pleasant surprise, Lee was honest and upfront and basically told us he was not the contractor for us. It was not a matter of he could not perform the work, hardly that, but just a matter of the size and scope of what we were asking for. Instead of saying have a nice day, Lee provided us referrals for several businesses that he personally endorses and they would be able to help us accomplish our goals. After he departed, we visited his recommended Garden Center and found exactly what we were looking for. Today we met with his stone expert and we hired him on the spot...why, because they were professional, upfront and honest with what they recommended and could do for us. It was definitely a breath of fresh air dealing with Lee and his colleagues...first class all the way!

Words will do very little justice to the work and quality that River City Deck and Patio provide. My wife and I originally hired Gebhardt Designs out of New Braunfels, TX to create a functional and enjoyable space in our backyard for entertaining; what we got was an embarrassing eye sore that we found ourselves avoiding. Thankfully I was able to find River City Deck and Patio. I initially met with Lee and he immediately expressed his regret for our unfortunate situation. Lee was very informative and even before I decided to employ his services, he made me feel more educated about how the work should have been done. He recognized issues with the products and techniques used by Gebhardt Designs but quickly provided a resolution to our problem. The resolution turned out to be an incredible space that we can’t wait to utilize. I also need to mention that the guys that Lee has performing the work are extremely personable and very knowledgeable in their trade. These guys take pride in their work and it’s easily apparent from the quality they put out. As victims of poor quality workmanship and a dishonest contractor, we are extremely grateful that Lee and his guys have provided the complete opposite. From now on, we will only use and will always recommend River City Deck and Patio. Thank you Lee!!

River City Deck and Patio just finished my outdoor kitchen a few days ago. We are VERY happy we chose them to do the work! This company deserves a 5 star rating because the job was done extremely well with outstanding results. Simply put, it is beautiful work, from the thorough, attractive design stage, with a focus on functionality of the kitchen as well as aesthetics (credit Heidi) - to the meticulous, careful, and skillful building of the kitchen (credit Bill). I would also like to mention Robert, whom I did not meet for the awesome sturdy frame he built offsite (this is a great idea, by the way)! For all that was done and the quality of the work, the price was very reasonable. I received estimates from two other sources which had neither the detail nor completeness of this design in meeting our requirements, but which actually would have cost me MORE per linear foot. Heidi and Bill made recommendations throughout the entire process which complimented our ideas very nicely. The end result is an outdoor kitchen which not only looks great in our patio but will provide everything we need to serve smoked, grilled food, drinks, condiments, etc. to many of our guests for years to come! We are very proud to show off their work to anyone. HIGHLY recommended!

We chose River City Deck and Patio after much research and receiving three bids for tearing down and rebuilding our 1,000 sq. ft. deck. Heidi, with River City, was knowledgable, helpful, and experienced. She was a delight to work with - available for questions, and had the answer or she a Lee figured it out. Lee, the owner, was patient, easy to communicate with, and worked to keep our project within budget. Oscar, the lead of the team building our deck, was amazing! They start early! They were efficient and cleaned up all the debris from our old deck and took it away. Oscar is easy to communicate with, has great knowledge about construction, and very helpful in figuring out solutions for "surprises" that come up, or last minute changes. He is in contact with Heidi and Lee so things keep moving. We are thrilled with our deck and the whole experience of working with River City Deck and Patio. They are reasonable, helpful, efficient, and easy to work with, and we highly recommend River City Deck and Patio!

I am very satisfied with the new Arbor and all the work done by River City Deck. Heidi first came out and gave me options with a detailed drawing, she was very professional and very experienced. The next crew came out led by Jeremy put arbor up very polite answered all my questions did excellent job. Next crew out was concrete crew led by Joe they too were very professional friendly did excellent job only problem during this portion of job was city inspectors from Cibolo, even though they were very unprofessional, unfriendly and determined to slow job down Joe and his crew handle it well and finished job. Next crew was the Datek crew they put finish on concrete they too were very professional came out explained job what I needed to do to maintain finish when I could get on it etc. Overall very pleased would not hesitate to use Lee and his crew again, thank you from a satisfied customer.

After looking at a few other contractors my wife and I were sold on River City from the start. Heidi was very professional and knowledgeable about everything in relation to an outdoor deck and living setup. She worked with what we wanted, needed and within our budget. She even patiently set through and drew out a few plans and really customized the deck to make it look unique. She took into consideration our kids and how they can enjoy the space as well. The contractors were very polite, quick and detailed when walking me through what was done and what they will be working on. They did not leave a mess and did not cause a disturbance what so ever. I highly recommended River City if you are looking for a very affordable, high end deck, where the experience is just as good as the product.

The River City crew built us a large attached rear patio and cover structure. My wife and I wanted it to match the exterior of the house as well as possible. And they succeeded! Every aspect of their work from pouring the concrete slab to designing the main structure to making it flow into the existing roof was faultlessly done. What is more, they did it with plenty of time to answer our questions and listen to our suggestions and with a willingness to incorporate minor design changes which we had not anticipated in the beginning. Heidi and Lee were great to work with. I spoke to 4 contractors and never felt comfortable with any of them. I always felt I got vague answers and a huge price. After my intial visit with Heidi and final walk thru with Lee on my design and vision they assured me there would be no problem. I have had my patio cover for 6 months and I could not be happier with the results. My patio cover exceeded my expecations. His installation team was great. The patio cover that has transform my backyard. I Have Highly recommend them to my friends. Three of them have used them for projects and are also pleased.

Great experience all around. Started with the design, communication, construction and follow up could not have been more professional. Heidi suggested the perfect arbor for us. The construction crew arrived and explained their actions for the day and completed the project 90 minutes prior to their own estimation. Lee provided the extra touch of calling us and ensuring all was to our liking. Price was outstanding!!!!!! The red ceder arbor not only provided shade it became a focal point for the yard due to its appearance and rustic charm. I would highly recommend River City Deck and Patio.

We went through 6 different Deck builders before deciding to go with River City. We had an area that we wanted a walk way in that several deck builders would not even touch due to the angles. Lee did not see any issues with this and it came to pass that he was correct. The 2 man crew he sent out did an outstanding job on a deck that is just under 1000 square feet with an Arbor. They were highly skilled and could not have been happier with them. I highly recommend River City and would do business with them again. Considering the quality of our deck I do not think it will be anytime soon.
