Ryan Johnson represented me in reopening my divorce and child support agreement against my ex, who is also an attorney. He was always prompt and respectful, his staff very helpful, and I believe he gave excellent advice on strategy. From the beginning, he was clear about what I was asking for and what was a reasonable expectation of outcome. He was dead right, too. Because of time and circumstances, it had become a very complex issue. I had long since moved from Salem to Portland, and my original attorney retired. The plaintiff dragged her feet and it appeared it would be a long, protracted court case, there had already been almost 10 pleadings and status conferences. The entire time, I felt comfortable with him representing me. Ryan pressed all the issues firmly, and through the court kept her feet to the fire, and ultimately convinced her to settle. Throughout, I thought he was fair and kind, and he even advised me when I was being unreasonable. To this day, my ex still complains what a persistent, tenacious opponent he was. When it was all finalized, the cost was less than what he had estimated to be the upper end, with a lot more court appearances than he had expected. Since then, I have consulted him multiple times for other legal issues, and have found his advice to be well thought and fair.

I understand now why Ryan Johnson was recommended to me, he proved to be invaluable to the entire process of the divorce. Ryan is very upfront, he informs you on what you need to hear for possible outcomes and really sets you up so you are prepared. He was always there when I needed him and answered every question and concern I had without leaving me wondering what was next. He took the time to explain everything and was always quick to help (I called and emailed a lot!). I can’t imagine going through this process with anyone else as Ryan really helped me see the big picture and separate my emotions out of the situation.
