I used Paragon because they had good reviews and were close to where I was staying when I was closing on the house. Wow, I can not say enough about them. There were some complications with my situation and then again with the title. My situation was that it was a cash closing but I would need to get a loan about 6 months down the road. They immediately advised that I handle it in a way that I was not subject to a Maryland tax for a second time which I would have been if it was just handled as a full cash closing. Then there was an issue with a tiny piece of my lot having been oddly managed in the title work 50 years ago due to a community well. They knew how to draft documents for the seller and for me to manage this crazy title issue that they had pretty much never seen before (except another one that same week). It is the third house I have closed on in my life and normally there are no issues that pop up to surprise a title company. My past experience is title companies handle it in a pretty rote manner unprepared for the least surprise. I almost shut down the closing for a duplex in Denver when I refused to sign documents saying I would not rent out part of the property; no one knew how to handle such a "crazy" thing as the form documents not fitting the situation. Paragon, wow, wow, wow. First call in when I said it was cash but a loan down the road they immediately knew to save from a second Maryland taxing. When there was an oddity with the title they were fully engaged on the spot and able to draft appropriate documents. These are smart, fully engaged lawyers who really know what they are doing. And this was for a very inexpensive house in Clinton, MD. Thank you and great kudos to Randy Rothstein and Philip Raskin!!

The Paragon team really took care of us from the start. We had great interactions with the pre-settlement team as they were able to answer all of our questions up front, and they even connected me to one of their attorneys for a few follow-up questions. At closing, Rob Rothstein was extremely knowledgeable and professional, and the closing process was quick and even enjoyable as he has a great sense of humor. They have individuals that are devoted to each step of the closing process (pre, closing, post) and you are moved seamlessly from one team to the other. Highly recommend.
