One of the most amazing national parks in the US that we have. The different environments that encompass this park are just out of control. Parts of the park are wooded forests, some are deserts, and some are just different colored mountains. If you plan on booking a backpacking trip, make sure to get your permits about 4 months ahead of time at least, they book up super fast and the walk in permits fly out the door in minutes. The free shuttle within the lower part of the park is great to get to the more popular areas of the park for tourists, like Angels Landing, Scout Lookout and Emerald Pools. Make sure to visit other parts of the park though, like Kolob Canyon, Lava Point, and Wildcat Canyon. If the water level is low enough, do the Narrows, it is such an incredible experience that you cannot miss out on that. Check out Grafton outside of the park, a local ghost town. There are a ton of shops and stores right outside the southern entrance so you can buy supplies at a little bit higher of a price, but not too bad.

The park itself is amazing, but the management is a disaster. It turns out they did a lot of advertisement in the past few months and attracted a huge crowd, but not prepared to handle it at all. Everything is slow at Zion. Long lines everywhere, and long stops before the tunnel. Not enough parking, huge lines for the shuttles, not enough places to rest, narrow roads with no passing lanes or turnouts ... I have been to many national and state parks and returned with a smile on my face. Even at Yellowstone with animals blocking the road things were going faster than Zion. I am writing this not to discourage you to visit, but hoping that the park management read it and take it as a feedback to improve Update: we were stuck behind this RV for 10 miles leaving Zion. Utah has to invest more on the infrastructure specially around such a hot point of interest. Not only roads are narrow, but no signal coverage either to use your phone for navigation.

Zion is a beautiful place to camp. The river is not far from most campgrounds, and the people are very friendly. Beautiful sunrise and sunset, gorgeous landmarks, and so much history to explore. Let it be know , the rangers are a bit crazy about disturbing the natural grass that is within the park. If you step on it , you might get yelled at, even though grass is each campsite. The group campsite we booked was supposed to hold 20 people, as you can see from the pictures there was almost no room for three tents. Let it be known there are deer that feed on the beautiful sunflowers within the campground and is an awesome site. I rated 5 stars because the grounds themselves are beautiful, the sites within Zion are amazing, the river is a short walk, wildlife is so close you can almost touch it,and the sunsets will take your breath away.

A hidden gem within the National Park system as it is often overshadowed by its more famous neighbours such as the Grand Canyon National Park and Monument Valley amongst others. It is without doubt my favourite National Park that I have currently visited. There is also a useful shuttle service in operation within Zion National Park for visitors to use. For budding hikers like myself Angels Landing is a must do and is regularly acknowledged in publications as being in the top 10 hikes to accomplish within the National Park system. Views of Zion Canyon from Angels Landing are splendid and worth the effort of hiking up both a switch back system and a narrow ridge. Without doubt Zion National Park will live long in the memory.

We loved Zion. First we hiked up Angels landing, which is not for the faint of heart. We hiked to the top with two 8 year old boys and that stretched them a lot but they were brave and made it. The next day rushed to hike the Narrows and we wish we had allowed a full day to enjoy this. Great place for the whole family to enjoy some water and hiking. While we were in this area we started at Zion river resort in an RV. We also participated in a canyoneering trip through Zion adventure company which was very good. Ask for Laura and Shannon as your guides. All in all wet did Zion in 2 days and skills have allowed at least 4 for a leisurely first visit.

First time visiting this wonderful park. Was blown away! Everything that I was able to see in my short day trip was breathtaking. Wish I had done a bit of research before going. I was in search of The Narrows throughout our visit. Found its location but did not get to it. Somewhere in the park, dry suits are offered to rent. These suits let you go through streams and rivers without worrying about getting wet and cold. We had to stop our trip short because we did not have those, and in the winter, they would have been perfect. I really considered the risk of hypothermia to see more. I obviously did not take the risk. Amazing park!!

WoW! We had such an amazing time traveling through Zion National Park, around every corner was another amazing, beautiful sight. The free shuttles take you to every popular spot through the park, returning every 15mins. Bike racks also offered on the shuttles. We also hiked the trail system, which again presented amazing sights. Just before you enter into the National park, you enter Spingdale. This small community offers a variety of dining options, lodging and shopping. Our family is currently traveling this beautiful country via RV style. I have gone to this park both in the summer and in the winter and it is absolutely beautiful!! During the winter after a snowstorm you are able to see the beautiful formations of red and orange and yellow rocks sprinkled with the white of snow. It is honestly a view that is hard to find anywhere else in the world. Also, I have done the Narrows Hike which is an experience of itself as you hike up the river through a narrow and serene canyon. It is a hike that I believe should be ranked among the top ten in the world. All in all I absolutely believe that this park is gorgeous and something that you will not want to miss!

If someone told me the Divine Creator actually lived here, I would have no trouble believing it. Breathtaking is truly an understatement. Majestic is closer. You cannot help but be awestruck as you drive in to Zion National Park. This nation is blessed with many stunning national parks. I have a very hard time rating them. Arches. Yellowstone. Glacier. Bryce Canyon. Canyonlands. Grand Teton, one of my absolute favorites. Great Smokies. Yosemite. But Zion, Zion is something special. Do not just drive through. That would be an Injustice, to you and to the park. Savor it. Like a very good wine. You will never forget it.

Gorgeous park with numerous trails. Great place to hike and get scenic pictures but it is very crowded. You will have to do a very challenging trail or hike very far to find any seclusion. I had to wait in line just to pay to get in. Also you have to ride a shuttle to each trail head. There is only weekly passes available for a car which is $30. They should offer a more affordable day pass. If you have the time, you could easily do day visits for a week and do different trails and visit the visitor center and museum. We only had time to do the Riverside Walk, a portion of the Narrows and the Emerald Pools.

Wow place for hikes and photography. Need atleast 3days to do popular hikes. Angles landing and observation point (sunrise) are must do for hike loves. Hikes here are dangerous too. If no energy to hike, free shuttle services are available. You may find difficulty in finding seat in the shuttle while returning in the evenings to visitors center, better step-on to shuttle coming from visitors center (which will be vacant) Make sure your vehicle is parked in the alocated space, if not you will be either warned or vehicle is towed. I recommend to buy annual pass for national parks and save money.

Beautiful oasis in the desert, with water and groves of cottonwood. Saw Condors and Mule deer while in the park. The shuttle bus makes it easy. I rode all the way to the end, figuring that if I got off at the first stop the next bus along would be filled. Going to the end and getting off on the way back worked well, as none of the buses were near full. When leaving the park its best to take the high road for the view, and after going through the tunnels there are some of the most fantastic rock formations I had ever seen on my trip. And a bighorn sheep running across the road was a plus.

One of the most incredible places on earth! Many miles of incredible hikes with powerful overlook views. Even if someone is unable to get out hiking, just what is seen from the roads is stunning beauty. The only downside is the number of people there due to it being so well known as well as being so close to southern California, but there is a free bus system in the park which thankfully eliminates other vehicle traffic in a large section of the park. The high numbers of people makes finding a campsite difficult in the very limited number of campgrounds, so plan ahead.

The landscape itself is a 5 star landscape. The experience in the park was more of a 1 star. The electronic sign that said "zero parking spaces available in the park" says it all. Shuttle buses are available to take you into the main valley, but all the lots were filled, so no place to leave the car. My early June trip told me this beautiful park is far too popular to be enjoyed. Sadly, I see no solution. We did sneak in a nice park hike in an outlying and less used entrance, but the classic Zion views in the main section were just not available. Perhaps visit in November.

This place is incredible. I went for two great big hikes. The second hike I overdid it--bigtime. I made it all the way in to the Kolob arch, one of their hardest hikes available. I made it almost out, and ran out of water. Huge problem for 100+ degree heat. A park ranger, Rendan (spelling?) was hiking along the trail and ensured I made it out safely. They took me back to the main ranger station and made sure I was %100 before I left. Such a beautiful place, and great rangers are there to look out for your safety. Great place, pack supplies, and no your limits!

Great place for family! We only had a day to see but wow! We went in from the east entrance and was thinking from other post that the road was going to be scary. Well if you want an experience of true beauty go in the park through the east entrance and drive to the south entrance visitors center. If you drive slow and see the sights along the way you will not be disappointed. We never had any anxiety about the road. It was fine just make sure you have good breaks. The decent into the cannon after the tunnel winds down the cannon. We loved this place!

Awesome park with great possibilities for hiking and rock climbing. Great place to go for children and adults with many different age oriented activities to do. Really good spot for photography at the right times at with the weather permitting as well! While we were there, we were also able to see "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in the full size theater that is a part of the store plaza. Overall, I would definitely recommend this as a stop if visiting the area as every edge and corner of the place is filled with great sites and amazing experiences!

It was incredibly busy and somehow for me I think this makes the park less special. The shuttle bus system works very well and is absolutely necessary to deal with the vast number of people. The ranger we spoke to at the visitor center was not the usual welcoming warm ranger that we have been met by elsewhere, although the one at the nature museum were much nicer. The operator of one of the shuttle buses mentioned that last year there were about 3.5 million visitors and this year they expect over 4 million. For me it was too crowded.

Definitely my top 3 national parks besides Yellowstone and Yosemite!! So imposing, so spectacular, so pretty, especially in fall. We decided to hike up the Observation Point and the trail was deadly tiring. One of the most physically challenging hike we’ve ever did. One problem: the last shuttle bus in fall is at 7:15 so when we came down and missed it, we had to walk from stop 7 to stop 5 to look for a ride from there to the parking lot. I just wish they had longer operation time. We ended up walking 38,000 steps in a day.
