Our case is complicated. It involves our daughter’s custody, visitation and child support from the father of our grandchild covering multiple states and attorneys. We researched firms in North Carolina extensively to be sure the attorney we hired here would be fully capable of first understanding, and then providing accurate guidance regarding the most important priorities in our lives – our daughter and our grandchild. The team at the Woodruff Family Law Group works in full synchronization. Even during our first meeting, Carolyn Woodruff listened intently to our situation and took action to verify what we couldn’t. While we met and talked with her, she instructed her team members to verify petitions filed in other states and other facts of our case, and even contacted our attorney out of state. She was precisely clear of what she needed to know, and in what seemed like no time, her assistants were swiftly providing her additional information as she requested it. In our first hour, she not only fully understood our case, but had verified facts, and was making insightful suggestions on how to proceed. We recently met with Carolyn after our daughter received notice that the father of her child was suing for custody. Our daughter had fled to NC with her child several months earlier to escape the abuse of the child’s father. Concerned with the safety of our daughter and granddaughter, we sought an attorney who would be tough, and have a clear understanding of the maze of laws surrounding custody issues. We found Carolyn Woodruff to be all that and more. During our initial meeting, Carolyn used her extensive knowledge and expertise to guide the conversation in the most productive way possible. Even after it was determined that our case would fall under the jurisdiction of another state, Carolyn followed up with e-mails containing valuable research and advice. Most of all, during a very stressful and worrisome time, Carolyn was a voice of reason and genuine caring. Our only regret is that we did not seek her services the moment our daughter and granddaughter moved to North Carolina. One thing that particularly stood out when working with Adam Furr was how thorough he was. He went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed and were prepared for anything else. This leads me to believe that being correctly prepared is a standard for him. Aside from being extremely thorough, he came across in court as very confident.
