I had a RD charge for going 83/70 in Dinwiddie County. I did not realize the severity of the charge and went to court and plead guilty hoping for a reduced sentence. I got convicted and panicked. I am in graduate school for education and having to click "yes" on the criminal conviction was NOT something I was trying to put on a job application... simply because I drove 13 miles over the speed limit. Unfortunately I had a driving record that has marks on it, no speeding tickets but several improper turns and other minor violations that made my record look ugly however on an appeal. I hired a lawyer in Dinwiddie (NOT Daniel Leavitt) for a very low price to handle my appeal. However, I could not get in contact with him after paying him even to get a receipt for my payment. I called him one day after several emails and about a week of leaving messages and politely but ademately asked his secretary that I get a receipt so that knew what i paid for. Long story she was very rude and hung up the phone on me, even though I kept my tone polite but firm the whole time. I emailed that attorney that I was seeking other counsel and ended up getting a refund. Now about a week before my appeal I had to find a new attorney. Mr. Leavitt personally answered my call and offered me a reasonable price, and felt trustworthy, so I hired him. He seemed to me to have very seasoned experienced in particular with dealing with Dinwiddie County and how the prosecutors and judges operate and that was very comforting. Not only did he get my charge reduced to just a 9 above speeding ticket. But he was 100% accessible to me. He answered the phone almost every time I called or called me back. I was very anxious about this situation and contacted him quite a few times. He was prompt and thorough in response to emails, and I felt the entire time like he valued my case and never like it was just some minor thing on a stack on his desk (which I felt with my other lawyer) This issue caused a lot of lost sleep for me and in my opinion, hiring Mr. Leavitt was just a great investment. He seems genuinely passionate about his practice, and I would recommend him to anyone to handle a traffic violation.

Attorney Daniel Leavitt is hands down the best attorney I was able to find in or near the Emporia, Virginia area!! I received a reckless driving ticket (exceeding 80mph on the highway) while passing through Virginia headed back to see some family for the holidays. After returning home I found out the possible punishments and repercussions that a reckless driving charge held in Virginia. Knowing I would not be able to return to Virginia for court in five weeks, I conducted some very thorough research into who I thought would be the best attorney in that area. This led me to Daniel Leavitt. Once I found and immediately began speaking to Mr. Leavitt I was extremely impressed and I obtained his legal counsel. From that point on and straight through until the DISMISSAL, yes DISMISSAL of my case and his follow up phone call and email notification afterwards; Mr. Leavitt handled everything for me making my part of the case very simple for me. He was nothing but professional, prompt, precise and accurate throughout my entire case. I recall even emailing him late one night (approximately 1:00a.m.) to provide him some information and also ask him a few questions, not expecting an answer back until at least later that next business day and much to my surprise, he replied back to my email within about 10 minutes. I was shocked!! Lastly, I’d say through my research, his asking prices were average, though for the service he provided and for getting my case dismissed, THAT is PRICELESS!! Drivers driving through VA, beware..! If you get a reckless driving ticket in VA, you have come to the right place. Leave it to Mr. Leavitt to fix the same. Virginia is NOT for lovers, but is the road to CLASS-1 Misdemeanor for speeding at/over 80mph; this can leave a permanent scar of a criminal record with a lot of undesirable consequences if not tackled with the right legal help. I was in a daze when charged with a ticket for driving at 87mph in a 70mph zone near Dinwiddie; was always under the impression that you had to drive 25mph over the posted limit to be considered reckless, but realized the seriousness of my stupidity in VA in a couple of hours, looking up the issue/fine details on the web. I looked up numerous legal options but through some gut feeling decided to engage the services of Mr. Leavitt and I am definitely glad that I did. Mr. Leavitt spoke to me/responded promptly to each of my emails/concerns himself and helped get the charges dismissed. I would say to anyone.."Leave it to Mr. Leavitt" to take care of any of your reckless driving charges, but better still, do not be caught in VA, driving anywhere at 80mph or over.

I hired the services of Daniel 2 days after I got my ticket 84 on a 70(clean driving record), he had a flat rate and I did not have to show up for court (I was referred to him through another lawyer I found online). He got me with a defective equipment $100 and court fee $71 which I found to be pretty good as he said it could have been $150 max for defective equipment. Another thing, is that Dan said it would help the fact I was a veteran, so for anyone with a ticket, keep that in mind. Bottom line, when I hired Dan it took off a lot of stress off my shoulders as he told me he would take care of everything, and he kept it personal as I always communicated with him and not a secretary; he also said that even if the case would drag or extends for whatever reason it was already included in the flat rate, which is a plus.

Mr Leavitt is greatness. First, he was a human being and easy to talk to. Second, he was smart, and always knew what he was talking about. Third, he was aggressive in his defense, and I really felt like he really wanted my issue resolved as badly as I did. Fourth, the issue was in fact resolved to my satisfaction, thanks to 1 through 3, above. He was always accessible, returned his calls and never rushed me off the phone; I felt that my concerns became his concerns. (I once wrote a check for $10,000 to another attorney for another mater entirely, just to tie up loose ends, and if that guy had had a fraction of the smarts, scruples and humanity as Mr. Leavitt, it would have been money well spent, not money simply wasted. I may as well have burned it.) I would recommend Mr. Leavitt to anyone I know.

I live in Virginia Beach,VA and I was driving my parents from Orlando. I received a reckless driving for driving 89mph in a 70mph zone going around Richmond,I was shocked to find out that the charge of Reckless Driving is a Class 1 Misdemeanor.I decided to go with Daniel Leavitt. I endorse this lawyer, who represented me on a speed trap case in Virginia. The law is intentionally harsh in order to force drivers to plead to a lesser charge and pay attorneys and fines. I was issued a "reckless by speed" going 85/70 in Sussex Virginia. This was my first "speeding" ticket, but my record is not 100% clean. Mr. Leavitt was able to represent me in court and knocked the traffic matter down to a non moving violation that carried nothing but a fine.
