I previously worked here, but was a CUSTOMER at the same time. I had numerous loans; REDEEMED, ON TIME & NEVER DEFAULTED. At one point, I had an issue with the poor management & business ethics. I found jewelry on the sales floor that was being graded incorrectly, which was then being sold at a misleading price. I decided to speak about the issue with the owner. I was immediately fired. They would not give me my last paycheck unless I paid off all my loans that I had at that time. This was and still is the most unprofessional situation I had ever experienced as an employee who valued business ethics, but more importantly as a LOYAL CUSTOMER. In the end, I learned that they just look up sold items on eBay & lowball that price to the customer. After experiencing their poor business ethics & customer service, I then researched & compared other pawn shops in the area. I found that every pawn shop in the Kane & Cook County area offer more than this place. If you are in dire need of this service, just let them lowball you a price & then take your item to another pawnshop. Let the next pawnshop know what price Windy City provided you & they will most likely beat it. If they can’t beat it, they will at least match it. You have nothing to lose. Otherwise, I would not suggest this pawnshop to anybody! BEWARE!

Windy City Jewelry and Loan in Elgin is a pawnshop like no other I have ever dealt with and I have been to a few. The Staff is Honest, Friendly and always willing to try to get you what you need! They give you top dollar loans on your valuables; I know I was shocked in comparison to other pawnshops. Another noteworthy service they provide is if you are going to be late or forget your due date on your valuables, they have been known to contact you and give you a courteous reminder (they aren’t out to take your stuff just to provide you a good service, when you need it). In addition, Windy City Jewelry and loan, has great prices on all kinds things, I have seen TV’s, Musical Instruments, Tools, Jewelry, and much more for sale in there.

Went in looking for a Dremel. They had one so i bought it for $28 otd. Then I do a google search of the model and they popped up all over new for 29.99. I usually search an item prior to buying it from a pawn broker for negotiating, but the one time I dont I get taken. When I first got there I told the big boss that I usually buy at cash traders on the east side of Elgina and they did not have what I was looking for. He then proceeds to kicked them in the stones saying they suck and their prices suck even more. I totally disagree with the guy. Cash Traders is a better experience in every way.

The customer service & business ethics of this company are so poor that they beg customers to give them 5 star reviews to account for all their bad reviews. BEWARE! Unfortunately you have to give them at least 1 star, otherwise this company is a joke. Easy Cash Solutions (1460 Main Ln, Elgin, IL 60123) is right down the street & will beat any offer from Windy City. Let Windy City lowball you, then take your item down the street to Easy Cash Solutions & provide them with the amount Windy City offered you. Easy Cash Solutions will offer you more!

I had a great experience shopping for an engagement ring! The staff were so friendly and very professional. They were able to help me pick out something beautiful and for great price. I had gone to four jewerly stores nearby and they were overcharging me so i found a great deal with Windy City! I will definitely be doing business with them in future!!

What a great little pawn shop! I am new to the pawn world (thanks economy). I felt like this company walked me through my transaction so i fully understood and was comfortable with it. I ended purchasing a few video games for xmas gifts too. Overall nice place and good people.

I went in here recently to sell a playstation 4. I had went to multiple pawn shops to see what the prices were, and this shop gave me the most money. They were also way nicer tham the other shops im going to go here from now on.

I found this Pawn Shop to be very fair and extremely honest. I sold 2 peices of gold and an older diamond ring. I visited 2 other local pawn shops and Windy City gave me the best price. I will use them again.
